Really, go here
Really, go here
As promised, I have some big news to share with you! I am moving the blog! That is right, you heard me. i am moving the blog to its own domain where I will control the controls. (I think). I have moved the posts and comments already and the site is up and running so go here from now on:
You are reading that right, I have my own site named for….TOPH ! Yeah me!
The site needs some work, but hey, so did this site! So please bookmark the new site and I will see you there!
The latest shot is being fired from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. In it she is saying, “We can talk to who ever we like, even if it is your backyard.” Of course this is what Russia said when they were visiting Venezuela a few weeks back. however in this case, Russia doesn’t seem to like this game anymore.
One has to wonder if Russia didn’t know this was coming. Have they also forgot history and the tit-for-tat of the first cold war? Looks like we all did.
That is right, boys and girls. This is another one of those days when life just gets in the way of the keyboard. I again must pull the dreaded double. Damn chef jobs.
Today, though, I really do not mind too much as I am honored to prepare the food for a wedding reception for a very dear friend. I have known Liz Gerris, now Hawk, for so long long we should be related. But she finally met and married the man of her dreams. Kudos and God speed to you both.
Coming back to point, I will not be around today, so once again you must go outside and play. I know you are all dying to hear me go off on dip wad OJ and how he is finally going to prison. Or how the buyout of Wall St is the best or worst thing the Government every did, or if I am ever going to tell you who to vote for…Okay, I just kidding myself on these points. But I will leave you with a little tease, my big news about the blog will be coming very shortly. Sleep well kiddies! If I drink too much caffeine at the reception, I will try to update!
SUNDAY UPDATE: It went wonderful and Liz makes a beautiful bride, even though she was in jeans! Again I am very happy for her.
Homer Simpson, now there is an endorsement every candidate yearns for. Thanks to Don for pointing me to this little gem. I think that with Homer voting for Obama, how can the rest of America not? Even those from Ohio! Good stuff!
Man, has this week flown by. Hard to believe that it is time to suck again at darts. At least the shots (as in alcohol, not dart shots) taste good. They may not make you feel good the next day though. The bad news is that I will not be able to see. Oops, I didn’t mean to say that. I meant to say that I will not be able to see the VEEP debate tonight. I will have to count on you folks to fill me in.
I will want to know:
You all have your homework, now get busy!
I think I read or heard that the MS Society raised over 3.6 million dollars on this ride. Can’t argue with that and I thank everyone who supported me on this ride. You folks are the tops!
GINSENG FOR EVERYONE!
What a four day adventure. Jeff and I left last Friday to take part in the MS City to Shore Bike Ride. We joined over 8000 other riders to bike for a cure for MS. So after a 10 hour car ride across Pennsylvania, we were set to ride 10 hours on a bike from Cherry Hill, New jersey (just outside Philadelphia) to Ocean City, NJ, which was about 100 miles. The ride ended up on the shore of the Atlantic. Sunday brought us back to Cherry Hill after another 75 miles. This is of course a very exciting ride for us as it officially ends the riding season. So you could call it the Super Bowl for our bikes (HA HA) The ride itself was very nice. It rained off and on Saturday and drizzeled most of the day on Sunday, but the tempature was warm so we did not mind much at all.
Riding with that many people takes all of the experience you have in order not to crash. I am not referring to the car traffic. Actually, there wasn’t much car traffic at all. I think they knew we were coming! There is safety in numbers after all.
There were people lined up on both side s of the road at the finish both days cheering all of the riders for their participation in the event. Quite spine-tingling.
We followed this with another 10 hour car ride home on Monday. So with the car and bike we covered 1100 miles and 4 states. Not bad for four days!
I know I haven’t posted much lately, but bear with me. I may have some things coming up that may make the site even better. Unfortunately, that will not include a new guy writing the blog! As depressing as that is, I think things will get better once I figure some things out.
Stay tuned for the ongoing news as that is all that I am going to give you for now.
Why not have a little fun with this, can’t make these kind of video’s about Joe Biden!
Because I sure missed you! Thanks to my lovely daughter for keeping the place nice and clean and, well let’s face it, having posted better than I ever could or can. But as in life, all good things must come to an end and I am back ready to entertain you all once again.
The bike ride was great and was for a great cause. I am sure I will let you all know about that in a later post. Stay tuned!!!!
It looks like I missed a lot while I was frolicking in New Jersey. Financial meltdown, Presidential debate and bats in the coffee!!! Who knew I would be so out of touch in New Jersey of all places. Come to think of it, besides the bat, I don’t think I missed much! But I sure missed home and the blog so I am sure I will make up for it this week! You lucky folks!
Anyway, I am leaving for the weekend and headed for New Jersey. Yes, if you must know, I did not lose a bet. I am doing a charity bike ride with Jeff and it takes place in Southern New Jersey. As I have mentioned before, this is a great ride and it is for a great cause.
But fear not, my fearful reader, I mean readers. I have a more than adequate replacement for me while I am gone. That is right, my wonderful daughter, Bethany will be filling in for me while I am away. You will be able to tell the posts she writes because unlike mine, they will be clear, concise and full of useful information. In other words, she will be good. I just hope she doesn’t do too good of a job, I mean, Jay Leno used to sub for Carson all of the time and you see what happened there.
Have fun while I am gone and be sure to be nice to Bethany. I mean I may let her write more often if you are. If not…It will be all me!
By the way, isn’t this just a too cute picture!!! (I’ll be in Jersey where Beth can’t hit me)
Beth isn’t the only one who wants to be Julie. Here is a very interesting take on the classic!
I think we need to get a bike ride in Oregan if the following story is to be believed.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland Police took a waterfront Lady Godiva down a notch this week. Barely. They were getting calls about a nude skater whizzing past tourists and rush-hour commuters.
But you can do that in Oregon, where occasional nude bike rides draw police only for crowd control and shows featuring live sex acts are protected as free speech.
The skater, Gennifer Moss, aka Earth Friend Gen, asked organizers for permission this summer to skate naked in the city of Ashland’s Fourth of July parade. She didn’t get it.
Police told her to tone it down after construction workers complained.
Moss donned a string bikini bottom for the nonce and skated on.
Police say most callers are concerned about her safety.
Yeah, concerned about her saftey…right.
I am glad to see that she took all of the safety precautions such as having the proper gripping crocs on. She also made sure that she had shorts under her skirt (always important for the modest ones). She had the earmuffs to muffle her loud screams and the goggles on for those stray bugs. I think she should have had a mouth guard on for those as well! Do you notice she was not even holding on to the ropes?
Just a safety reminder, KIDS, do not try this at home! Beth is a trained professional at camera hamming. This takes years of practice. Beth has had, oh just a guess here, around twelve years and she still is performing!
Thanks for participating!
